Born and raised in South Africa, Andre Frauenstein started DJ'ing at the tender age of 13. With a passion for music & DJ'ing he went all out to break into the industry, which was already brimming with talented artists.
From word-of-mouth events held at FHM Magazine parties and Space Ibiza Party's in the Clubland District, he reveled in the spirit of adventure which encapsulated an entire generation of South African youth culture.
Andre quickly moved in to DJ at top clubs and events around the world, such as Loveparade in Essen, Germany; Se0ne & Tasty Harder Generation 2006 to name but a few. His endless dedication & passion having paid off, he has been given residency at the top South African event, Teknotribe, where he educates todays South African youth in Hard Techno. Andre is now known as the leading Hard Techno DJ/Producer in South Africa, with his music being played by the biggest in the Hard Techno scene across the world. His latest tracks being released on various labels,such as 'Around the World', 'Giveway Records'.
What punctuates Andre Frauenstein's skills as a DJ and producer, is his capacity to not only incorporate diverse genres and styles, but to transcend them by infusing his music with pure emotion and loyalty. During the day,working at Cut & Paste Generation Studio's, Andre composes alongside film score & commercial composer Alun Richards. He has also assisted Alun in scoring features such as 'Tau Ya Soweto', 'Dollars and White Pipes', 'Number 10' & 'Lullaby'.
In early 2003 the DJ duo 'Grim Brothers' was founded by Andre Frauenstein and Chris Hattingh. Since then they've experimented with different genres of music and in 2005, they welcomed Shane Halcon to their team
Grim Brothers presented a weekly Dance Radio show on 95.4 UJ FM (RSA). Like jazz to funk, blues to rock or bass to dance music, traceable to its very last bleep and beat, this dance radio show creates a new and entertaining vibe for South Africa by keeping the youth up to date with the latest tracks, DJs and clubs.
